Yes, You may not compulsorily make notes in the classroom. But, If its mathematics, you might need it! However there are many websites where you can find notes of any subject of any semester.
There are students who are completely relying on the Internet for the notes and getting a good marks out of it! Searching, making a softcopy/hardcopy of the respective subjects and inheriting knowledge from it is the easiest thing you can do.
However, making notes can lot simplify the pressure you are likely to face during exams. But if are a busy guy, involve in a job, yes you may not make notes and simply rely on internet for clearing your exams!
